Founded in 1920 by Vasco Mariotti, the company originally manufactured lift trucks, barrows, elevators, trailers, and packaging materials for the Italian market. The turning point came in 1973, when the current owners stepped in to focus more closely on the handling needs of customers.
Production expanded to embrace pallet jacks, stackers, small counter-balanced equipment, front-loading forklifts, and electric platform trucks, but by the mid-1980s the future had become the compact forklift. In 1992 the first FCB series was launched, featuring models from 600 to 2000kg.
The first of the MYCROS series rolled off the production line, replacing the FCB series to become Mariotti's flagship range. The innovative new forklift proved an immediate success, first in Italy and then worldwide, with exports accounting for 45% of sales by 1998.
The new century ushered in the MYCROS 4 series - the smallest sit-down rider in the world, measuring just 990mm from the counterweight to the forks. The new series spearheaded the rise of Mariotti in North America, with sales to the region growing to 15% in just one year and a joint venture forged in 2002 with American partners. In 2004 the new ME series was launched, a simple and functional alternative to the MYCROS.
The launch of the MYCROS AC series marked the switch to AC technology, after three years of study. For the first time ever, customers around the world could choose between rear, front and all-wheel drive, without giving up on a compact size. In 2009 the ME series also switched to AC. The MYCROS AC 4-6C (now the Mini series), unveiled in 2011, is today the world's smallest forklift truck.
Mariotti has continued to engineer new solutions, first with the development of the MX series for loads up to 1600kg, and now with the MIP series, a stand-up rider with a capacity of up to 1000kg. The Mariotti range today is the most comprehensive in the small electric forklift segment. And with a dealer network in constant expansion, Mariotti's global reach spans more than 40 countries worldwide.
